Site Revamp and Vision

29 January 2010 17 views No Comment

It’s been on my mind for a while now, and I thought x0dus.com needed a new direction in cyberspace. I set off working on x0dus.com, with the desire to learn more about SEO, something I’ve learnt while working under an experienced mentor in the field. I also set off to see whether Internet revenue via adsense, is viable. Hence, when I set out, you would have realised that the site had a lot of strange categories, and I blogged about very niche kind of topics.

It’s been about 4 months since i start x0dus.com and I realised that well, I am starting to take more pride in blogging, and a large factor is due to the tremendous feedback and support I get from my friends and readers. It heartens me when someone casually strikes up a conversation with me saying, “Hey, I read your post about Whatever-Topic-Name, and …..” It’s nice to know what you put up makes a difference.

I slowly realised that the reason I blog nowadays is purely due to the connection I share with my readers, and no longer due to monetary reasons. As a result, I have removed the adsense on the page, and expanded the things I would like to blog about.

A Dream

While I was having my writer’s block about 3 weeks ago, I realised that a simple solution is that I should blog about the things I am passionate about, things I have alot of knowledge in, things I am familiar with and things that I have alot of opinion about. One of the things that struck me, was that having watched Man United play for 11 years and I always seem to have tons to say about them. Ask a majority of my guy friends, most of our conversations involve soccer one way or another.

Hence, I am going to take a shot at blogging about Man United. I am going to do game reviews, previews and analysis using in-game footages shown on TV. And the ultimate vision I have in mind, is a Man United blog where there is a huge number of readers who will comment on the issues discussed regarding the team, and express their estacy when the team equalises in Injury time or express their agony when Ferguson field another 4-5-1 formation at the Theatre of Dreams.

But to do this, I need all your support. And I am referring to anyone who reads this blog, and follows soccer. Let me know what do you think of the next few series of posts that I am planning to make about Man United. Just drop a comment on what you think of the team or just to let me know you think if it’s a great idea or not. Or simply just tell me, if it has been a good read or not.

Also, if you are interested on getting on this project, you can let me know as well, we can have multiple writers for this site.

What is in for you?

I have roughly done a checked in Google, if the site is of top quality, we have roughly about 14 other Man United blogs to beat before we rank on the 1st page of Google. Of course it will take a while, but if we are able to get a huge traffic going, revenue can come in the form of adsense and advertisements. However, I think the greatest satisfaction is knowing that we are responsible for the heated discussions that can take place while our team is playing the game of the season LIVE on TV.
