The box containing my companion for the next 4 years in uni, and not to mention my roommate when I am living on campus.
The Sager laptop is built as a gaming laptop, not a machine that you can use to wow your friends with it’s sleek edges and cool design, this is a minimalistic, no-frills, performance machine. Hence the size.
A closer look at how thick it really is, at least twice the thickness of my current table.
The problem that most gaming laptop has to deal with is the extreme heat, Sager laptops work around the problem with huge gigantic air vents at the back, not to mention at the bottom of the laptop as well. 
Picture taken of Assassin’s Creed II at 1920 X 1080 resolution, screen was upgraded for full HD, and everything looks as sharp as it could be. No performance issues at all, I maintain a steady 40+ FPS at 1920X1080 reso for most mordern games at full anti-aliasing settings and everything turned up to the max.
The importance specs are as follows: ATI Mobility Radeon 5870 1GB, Core i7 720 processor,

I remmeber 2 years ago, I was looking for an mp3 player and I wanted to not get an iPod because every Tom, Dick, Harry had an iPod. I went out to bought an equally expensive Creative Xi-fi 32GB.
And it was spoilt after just 8 months.

My iPod Classic lasted me for almost 2 years now, and I’ve dropped it so many times, I’ve already grown immune to feeling heartaches when I drop my Ipod. So, don’t judge me for sticking with Apple.
In other news, I ordered a Sager laptop today (: I am down 3,000 hard-earned 3,000 SGD, but I am one happy happy man.

Also in other news, 4 days, Over 600 pages to study, CMFAS Module 9, Aced.
In the end, it was a little sad saying bye to the laptop I’ve been working on for 3 months, will I ever work in an IT related job, full-time? I’ve no idea. It was a great experience, and the people I’ve worked with made my job so much easier by being really friendly and approachable.
Enter a new challenge.
So it’s gonna be 4 days, over 700 pages to study.
So I passed CMFAS Module 5 Last Monday, and due to negligence, and me falling sick, I am left with 4 days to study for CMFAS Module 9. I am so dead.
On a brighter note, as a reward to myself for ending 3 months worth of work, I burnt a deep hole in my pocket and purchased the Canon Ixus 210s, a more detailed review on it later. The picture above, is taken with my new camera, with a supposedly 3D effect, and I am really having tons of fun exploring the camera, but right now I am pretty sure I don’t want to waste the 100 SGD spent on registering the CMFAS exam. Mugging, here we go again.
And boy is it a joy. The last step before I could receive real cash from Google, is that they need to verify that I actually exist in sunny Singapore at the address I used when I signed up for my Google Mail aka account eons ago. Today they did just that, and what a day it’s been for me.
One day after my 21st birthday, I passed the CMFAS (Module 5) examinations, and I am one step away from getting money from Google after receiving the mail below!
Of course, I blanked out the voucher code.
All I have to do now, is await a postcard from Google, and I could collect the money from my Google adsense account!
For a first timer making money off the Internet, this is extremely exciting for me. It also validates the hard work that I’ve put in to my various websites, and I must say it is immensely satisfying.

My New Wishlist
Okay, back to non-techy stuff! I have been doing some market research recently, mostly due to the fact that I am moving away from home into hall/private residence @ NUS. I’ve realised there are a couple of items that I am still lacking to make my living-away-from-home experience a great one.
Now that I already have an awesome sound system that I am planning to move in together with me, I still lack the following:
- A Gaming Laptop (Screen should at least support 1920 x 1080 resolution
- A good phone that last me for a few years (My last proper phone was before I entered the army.)
- A compact digital camera
Looks like the money made from designing sites for the past 3 months can be put to some good use (:

I am currently ranked 6th out of 30,200,000 results on Google for the term “Football Manager Blog”, and I will continue to use the same SEO strategy for fashers.com
If I could rank for “Singapore Fashion” well with the same strategy, I might have just found the blueprint to ranking high on Google searches. Let me know what you guys think about the new dot com site of mine if you have any suggestions (:
As my full time contract comes to its last month, I was wondering if I could anything meaningful for the remaining time before I head off to uni.
If there was anything I learnt since September 2009 about starting up dot coms, it is that, content is really king on the Internet. There is no question about that. All the blackhat ways to get revenue might work, but only for in the shortrun, eventually the Big G will catch up with you, and before you know it, your site would have disappeared from the first few pages of the search results.
It took me a while, but my Football Manager blog is consistently ranking on the 1st page of google for the search term “Football Manager Blog”, and it is living proof that content is king on the Internet. I realised, to set up a great site, you have to immensely passionate about the content you are writing, and one should not make monetary rewards the focus and goal of setting up a dot com.
With that in mind, I ask myself, what can I contribute to the Internet that has not been done by others before.
It struck me one night, when I was driving home late at night around 11pm, and I was listening to Class 95 on the radio. It was some late night show called “Pillow Talk with <insert forgotten DJ name here>” or something.
And they had some marriage counselors on the show to give advice on how to ensure one’s marriage is a success, not only was the advice good, I felt the selection of songs the DJ picked was perfect. Reminded me of those songs that you listen to constantly on a loop to get over a bad heartbreak.
Only then I realised, how great would it be if there was a site, that had all the different kinds of songs, to help all the broken hearts in this world get over their sorrows.
I am certain such a concept has never been put into action before, and I would like to give it a shot.

Probably our biggest game of the season so far, yet we only have ourselves to blame for losing 2-1 at home to Chelsea. Now the title initiative lies with Chelsea, and we need a favour from Liverpool or Spurs in beating Chelsea, for us to catch up. Who is to blame? Is it Berbatov? Is it Gary Neville for letting Malouda slip past him? Is it Ferguson for his tactical decisions?
I believe, it’s every single one who belongs to the Manchester United family.
Don’t get me wrong, I will never turn against my own club that I supported for 12 years now. But, I was really gutted to see that display we put on last night, where was the passion? Where was the desire to beat the rentboys? How I wished Roy Keane was around.
The Berbatov Factor
Berbatov, or Berbaflop, they are calling him on various Manchester United blogs, is someone I have always defended when people slagged him off, saying he’s not worthy of being a Manchester United player. His finishing is far from Rooney’s, but he makes it up with his great setup play. But his performance last night, has cemented the idea in my head that, he is a flop at Manchester United.
While some would argue that Berbatov had very limited chances, thanks to our non-existent midfield, I say, for a striker who we paid 30 million pounds for, shouldn’t you convert chances, even if you had only 1 or 2 in the game? That’s the mark of a real great striker isn’t it?
Rooney showed that attribute in the Bayern game, when he scored against the flow of the game. Berbatov?
In the dying stages of the game, Gary Neville’s cross from the right found Berbatov open, and he attempted a volley that went straight at Cech. We were only a goal behind, and if that would have went in, it would have galvanised the team, and our charge for the title will still be in our hands. For a 30 million striker, you would expect him to make such an impact.
Berbatov had another chance in the game when he was through on goal, but as he lazily dragged the ball across his feet in the box, he allowed Lampard to track back and nip the ball away from him. Should he have hit the ball first time, Lampard would never have made it in time for the tackle.
Berbatov better put up one hell of a display against Bayern on Wednesday, or I fear, even Ferguson would lose his faith in him.
Gary Neville
I have been a Manchester United fan for 12 years, and I respect Gary Neville and his contributions to the team. I will never forget the days he combined with Beckham down the right flank to put crosses into the box. But he was not the player he used to be last night, Malouda simply got past him too easily. Furthermore, Gary Neville has already played 2 games in a row prior to the Chelsea game, and he is not exactly 20 is he?
Why wasn’t the speedier Rafael picked to counter Malouda, left me and a few friends puzzled.
The Non-existent Midfield
Was it fatigue? I don’t know. True we played against Bayern in midweek and might be tired as a result, but there’s a saying that goes “Mind over matter”. I hardly saw any drive in the midfield at all. Park was non-existent, perhaps due to his defensive duties on the flank, Scholes was unimaginative, he was closed down too quickly for him to play any decent passes, and Fletcher huff and puffed ineffectively.
You would really expect a player like Fletcher to excel in such a game. This is the kind of game that he used to dominate in the pass. I remember in the tie at the Bridge, he had Deco and Ballack in his pockets the whole day.
Why wasn’t Carrick playing. If you took a look at the first half, you would realised that Chelsea was controlling the tempo of the game, and hence the match. We needed a player like Carrick to slow play down if needed and spray the ball around calmly.
Giggs behind Berbatov in the AMC role? He looked terribly rusty, I had questions about him playing in such a crunch game straight after his injury, but to be fair to us, our squad had no more depth to cover for the loss of Heagreaves and Anderson. Perhaps if we did spend a little of the Ronaldo warchest last summer, we would not be in this plight right now?
The Media
I was a little irritated reading the papers today.
The media was pointing out the mistakes in Ferguson’s tactical decision, and etc. A local newspaper was even claiming that Ferguson should have started 4-4-2 with Macheda alongside Berbatov, and Ferguson’s biggest mistake was to play Berbatov 4-5-1 upfront.
So you are telling me, you are confident, Macheda after his long-term injury, can come in straight away and play 90mins of intensive high-tempo football against one of the top teams in the Premier League at the tender age of 17? Get your tactical facts right.
If we play Berbatov upfront alone, and lose, Ferguson is senile and has lost his mind, and made a BIG mistake. Why is it when we played Berbatov upfront alone against Bolton, you were the same group of journalist singing praises of how wise Ferguson is tactically and what a great decision it is to play Berbatov upfront alone?
Should we have beaten Chelsea at OT yesterday, I bet my life, not a single journalist will be mentioning how bad Ferguson’s decision to play Berbatov upfront alone was.
What’s Next?
Where can we go from here on? To be honest, I am still very much gutted by our loss to Chelsea.
Our only thing to do right now, is to pick ourselves off the ground, regroup and put up a great display on Wednesday at Old Trafford and remind everyone we still got every reason to be cheering for the team in the next few months.
Put up a magnificent display at home, and then we will see where we can go from there.
